Cà San Ponzio

Where we are and what to do

Nestled among hazelnut groves and vineyards, Cà San Ponzio is located in Vergne, a small village just 3 km from Barolo, La Morra and Novello, and 15 km from Alba and Bra. You are only 5 minutes by foot from the church, the excellent restaurant and the grocery store bakery; walking through the village you can also admire the “Memory Pathway”, a series of frescoes depicting scenes of peasant life painted by local artists directly on the walls.
Directly from our yard you can leave for long and pleasant walks or mountain bike rides in a network of perfectly marked trails through a breathtaking landscape, an endless sea of rolling hills, now a UNESCO’s World Heritage Site, and get to the nearest villages, that is Barolo La Morra and Novello, in a hour’s long walk. There you will find countless restaurants, taverns, wine bars and renowned wine makers.
Alternatively, Barolo, Grinzane, Serralunga and their austere castles are only a few minutes drive away; in only 15 minutes you can get to Alba, a town which is famous for its Truffle Fair – a worldwide known event running throughout October and into early November – or Bra, where the association Slow Food was born.
Furthermore, it takes only one-hour drive to get to Cuneo (the provincial capital) or Turin and its stunning monuments and shopping promenades, or the sea to spent a beautiful day sunbathing.
